HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Joey Logano is ready to take the next step in his career and win a Sprint Cup Series championship. The Team Penske driver earned a berth in Sunday’s Championship 4 title race at Homestead-Miami Speedway after his thrilling win last week at Phoenix International Raceway. It gives Logano a shot at taking home the Sprint Cup trophy, something he didn’t have last season thanks to his controversial incident with Matt Kenseth at Martinsville that eliminated him from title contention. But Logano has put all that behind and is looking forward to the brand new opportunity awaiting him on Sunday even if it comes in a pressure-packed scenario. “I couldn’t be more proud of that, and to have the opportunity to have the pressure on us,” Logano said. “Think about that. There’s not many race teams who have the opportunity to feel that weight on their shoulders, and that’s special to have that and to be able to execute under that. A lot of people crack in those situations, and this team doesn’t.” Logano was in the Championship 4 race two years ago but came up short of winning the title, which went to Kevin Harvick.
