MLB Awards lead off with 5 revelations

For two months, you voted. Now, the winners of this year’s Esurance MLB Awards are about to be unveiled.
The fun starts today, when winners in 19 categories will be announced throughout the day and evening across multiple platforms. Follow along on social media as winners in the first five categories are revealed throughout the afternoon. Then tune in as the winners in 14 categories — including Best Major Leaguer — are revealed live on MLB Network starting at 8 p.m. ET. The Esurance MLB Awards Show, hosted by Brian Kenny and John Smoltz, will be simulcast on MLB.com as well.

The theme of fan interaction connects the first five awards of the day: Best Call: TV/Radio, Best Social Media Personality, Best Player-Fan Interaction, Best Social Media Post and Best Trending Topic. All will be announced on social media throughout the day.
11 a.m. ET announcement First, we’ll find out the winner of Best Call: TV/Radio. It’s a field that combines legendary voices with dramatic on-field action. Nominees include Charlie Slowes calling Max Scherzer’s 20-strikeout game, Don Orsillo and Mark Grant commenting on a great Yangervis Solarte catch, Gary Cohen and Ron Darling’s exuberant reaction to Bartolo Colon’s home run, Tom Hamilton on Tyler Naquin’s inside-the-park walk-off homer, and Vin Scully capping yet another Dodgers win — this one in dramatic, division-winning fashion.
