Share: MIAMI, Fla. – Thursday’s Championship 4 press conference certainly won’t be confused with a heavyweight boxing match or UFC event. All four drivers who have a chance to win this year’s Sprint Cup Series title showed nothing but respect and admiration for their competitors. If you were looking for snark, head games or animosity you came to the wrong place. Jimmie Johnson, Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch and Joey Logano showed nothing but esteem and regard for each other throughout the 45 minute session. “At the end of the day, I grew up and this has been the kind of sporting event where, hey, you go in there and your respect your competitor as best as you can,” Edwards said. “I realize what these guys are capable of, and I think that being able to go have respect for your competitor, but still, when that race starts, we’re going to race each other with a lot of intensity.
