Trevino leads Saguaros to Fall League West division title

SURPRISE, Ariz. — Aided by a throwing error, the Surprise Saguaros rallied for three runs in the fifth inning Thursday to beat the Salt River Rafters, 4-2, at Surprise Stadium. With the victory, the Saguaros clinched a spot in the Arizona Fall League Championship game Saturday against the Mesa Solar Sox.
Rangers No. 20 prospect Jose Trevino led the Saguaros at the plate, going 2-for-4 with an RBI double and scoring twice. Trevino is excited to have the opportunity to play in the championship game.

“You come all this way, and you want to win it all,” Trevino said. “We are in that area, so hopefully we can get it done. Everybody is going to be a bit tight [on Saturday], but whoever comes out having fun will do well.
“I’ve really enjoyed just being with the guys. We’ve got a great group of guys, a great group of coaches and everyone has just been fun to be with.”
