Fisher replaces Wolff as managing partner of A’s

OAKLAND — Lew Wolff is stepping down as managing partner of the A’s, handing the reins to majority owner John Fisher. Major League Baseball owners approved the leadership transition during Thursday’s Owners Meetings in Chicago.
In addition, Dave Kaval has been named A’s president, replacing Michael Crowley, who held the role for 20 years and will transition to a role as senior advisor to the A’s ownership group.
Wolff, who is selling most of his stake in the organization to the remaining partners, will assume the role of chairman emeritus.
“It has been an honor serving as managing partner and I thank our fans, staff, and players for the opportunity I’ve had to lead this great organization,” Wolff said. “John and I have talked in great length about the future of this club and I am ready to pass the reins to him.”
