Dawnieriver completed a hat-trick when winning an eventful race for the Follow At The Races On Instagram Novices’ Handicap Chase at Plumpton.
Only three completed the near three-and-a-quarter mile course, with casualties including Oliver’s Hill, who was closing when falling five from home and Bennys Girl, who came down when leading four out.
The latter’s demise left Dawnieriver (8-1) well clear and Tom Scudamore coasted home as the six-year-old trained by his brother, Michael, backed up wins at Cartmel and Uttoxeter.
Kapgarde King was 49 lengths away in second place with another 26 lengths to the only other finisher, Forrest Blue.
“She’s improved nicely and I’m really pleased she’s managed to pull it out of the hat,” said the winning trainer.
