Iceland – Tyrone Garland’s triple-double lands him D1 Player of the Week award

TyroneGarland 24-year old guard Tyrone Garland (185-G-92) had an amazing evening in the last round for Breiablik and receives a Eurobasket.com D1 Player of the Week award for round 6.He recorded a triple-double of 37 points adding also 10 rebounds and 10 assists, while his team beat FSU (#3, 4-2) 100-90. Breidablik is placed at 5th position in Icelandic D1. They would have been even better if they hadn’t lost two games earlier this season. Breidablik will need more victories to improve their 3-2 record. In the team’s last game Garland had a remarkable six three-pointers out of 13 attempts. He turned to be Breidablik’s top player in his first season with the team. La Salle University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Garland is in league’s top in points (2nd best: 30.4ppg), assists (3rd best: 6.4apg) and averages solid 5.8spg and 55.2% FGP.Second best performed player last round was Derek Shouse (188-G-93) of IA. He is American guard in his first season at IA. In the last game Shouse recorded impressive double-double of 40 points and 13 rebounds.
