Byron Wesley American Byron Wesley (196-G-92) put on an amazing game in the last round for league’s second-best Kataja Basket and that’s him to receive a Eurobasket.com Player of the Week award for round 7.The 24-year old guard had the game-high 29 points adding four rebounds for Kataja Basket in his team’s victory, helping them to beat Salon Vilpas (#3, 4-2) 93-87. The game was between two of the league’s top four teams. Kataja Basket maintains the 2nd position in Finnish Korisliiga. They are still close to the very top. Kataja Basket would have been even better if they kept winning the games like in the last round. They have a solid 5-1 record. Wesley turned to be Kataja Basket’s top player in his first season with the team. Gonzaga University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Wesley is in league’s top in points (4th best: 18.4ppg).The second most remarkable performance in last round’s games was 27-year old American forward Al’Lonzo Coleman (201-F-89) of Salon Vilpas. Coleman impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 27 points and 10 rebounds. Bad luck as Salon Vilpas lost that game 87-93 to slightly higher-ranked Kataja Basket (#2, 5-1). …
