La Liga Table 2016 Week 10: Standings and Final Scores After Sunday
- Updated: October 30, 2016
La Liga saved its best for last on Sunday after Las Palmas battled back from three goals down to snatch a 3-3 draw against the 10 men of Celta Vigo, who had Sergi Gomez sent off in the second half of their meeting.
Villarreal missed their chance to climb up to third in La Liga on Sunday after goals from Ivan Ramis and Pedro Leon saw Eibar collect a valuable comeback victory against the Yellow Submarine.
Manager Fran Escriba saw his side edge into a 1-0 lead after Bruno converted a 40th-minute penalty, but two goals in the final 10 minutes led Eibar to a dramatic win some might argue was deserved.
Elsewhere, Athletic Bilbao also spurned their opportunity to ascend into La Liga’s upper echelon after stuttering to a 1-1 draw at home to Osasuna, where Raul Garcia cancelled out Oriol Riera’s opener.
Espanyol then capitalised upon Real Betis’ wasteful display and left Seville with a 1-0 victory, clinching their third clean sheet in four matches and extending their unbeaten run to four games.
Read on for a breakdown of Sunday’s La Liga results, complete with a look to the latest standings and a recap of the day’s action.
