Premier League Results: 2016 EPL Week 10 Scores, Table and Top Sunday Scorers
- Updated: October 30, 2016
Diego Costa re-established his lead as the 2016-17 Premier League’s top goalscorer on Sunday after his sensational long-range effort helped Chelsea secure a 2-0 victory over Southampton at St. Mary’s Stadium.
The Blues found an early 1-0 lead thanks to the individual brilliance of Eden Hazard, but it wasn’t until Costa’s strike early in the second half that manager Antonio Conte’s side knew the three points were secure.
Romelu Lukaku initially closed the gap in the top-scorer table earlier on Sunday after bagging the opener in Everton’s 2-0 victory over West Ham United before helping Ross Barkley add the second at Goodison Park.
Read on for a recap of Sunday’s Premier League action, complete with a roundup of the Week 10 scores in full and a look toward the updated top-flight standings.
Diego Costa Soars at Southampton
Chelsea talisman Costa again showed glimpses of his best on Sunday after powering the Blues to a convincing 2-0 victory over the Saints, where his missile was the highlight of a hugely important win.
After Hazard carved his own path to open the scoring six minutes in, Costa provided the crucial second to salve any Chelsea concerns after 55 minutes, as shown by Sky Football:
