World Series Game 5 starting lineups: Indians, Cubs
- Updated: October 30, 2016
CHICAGO — The Cubs are facing elimination vs. the Indians in the World Series tonight, but it was business as usual for manager Joe Maddon, who did not shake up the lineup for Game 5 at Wrigley Field. The Indians will try to win their first World Series since 1948, starting Trevor Bauer, whom the Cubs beat in Game 2. Bauer allowed two runs on six hits over 3 2/3 innings.
Center fielder Dexter Fowler will lead off for the Cubs and be followed by third baseman Kris Bryant, first baseman Anthony Rizzo, left fielder Ben Zobrist, shortstop Addison Russell, right fielder Jason Heyward, second baseman Javier Baez, catcher David Ross and pitcher Jon Lester.
• Game 5: Tonight, 8 p.m. ET on FOX
The Cubs need to find some offense, but it’ll be tough. Indians pitchers are 3-1 with a 1.50 ERA in the World Series, and 10-2 with a 1.68 ERA in the postseason overall, giving up six home runs over 12 games.
