Today’s show sets the stage for NJPW’s ‘Power Struggle’ on November 5th. The last major show before their biggest show of the year, WrestleKingdom 11 at The Tokyo Dome on January 4th. Today’s event featured the Super Junior Tag Team tournament semi-finals. With the results setting up the final match on 11/5.
Also announced on this show by New Japan was a major series of events with Mexico’s CMLL, called “Fantastica Mania 2017”. The tour will kick off on January 13th and conclude on January 22nd. The last 3 shows will take place at The Korakuen Hall in Tokyo. The very same location for today’s show. All of CMLL’s major stars will be on this tour.
