MLB, Stand Up To Cancer set for G4 moment

CHICAGO — Major League Baseball, Stand Up To Cancer and MasterCard will conduct a special in-game moment immediately after the fifth inning tonight at Wrigley Field, as players, umpires, coaches and fans all pause to hold up placards with the names of loved ones affected by cancer.
Every seat at Wrigley Field is covered with a now-familiar Stand Up To Cancer placard that reads: “I STAND FOR ______.” All of them are prefilled, but they have an option to write in a name of a loved one, as everyone is touched by cancer in some way. FOX will air the moment live.
This tradition began during the 2009 All-Star Game in Philadelphia, and it has continued at every All-Star Game and World Series since, as MLB continues to provide a giant platform for a message that it has reinforced since becoming the founding donor of SU2C in 2008. A sellout crowd participated at Petco Park when this was last done in July.
