Game 2 played without weather interruption

CLEVELAND — Two hours before the scheduled first pitch of Game 2 of the World Series on Wednesday, a 5-1 win by the Cubs that evened the Series against the Indians at one game apiece, Major League Baseball officials expressed cautious optimism it would start on time and be played to its completion, despite a drizzly forecast for the rest of the evening.
“Right now, the plan is to play,” MLB senior vice president of baseball operations Peter Woodfork said at 4:35 p.m. ET, approximately 2 1/2 hours before first pitch.
