Arrieta allows 1st hit in 6th (Live, FOX)

CLEVELAND — Don Larsen’s place in history was safe when the Indians found their way onto the scoreboard against Jake Arrieta, cutting a Cubs lead to 5-1.
Arrieta, author of two regular-season no-hitters including one in April of this year, didn’t allow a hit in Game 2 of the World Series until Jason Kipnis hustled for a double with one out in the sixth inning Wednesday. The hit snapped Kipnis’ 0-for-16 slump and left former Yankees ace Larsen as the only man to throw a no-hitter in a World Series game.

Kipnis moved to third on a groundout and scored Cleveland’s first run on Arrieta’s wild pitch. When Mike Napoli singled, Cubs manager Joe Maddon lifted Arrieta at the 98-pitch mark.
