Trevino nearly hits for cycle in Fall League

SURPRISE, Ariz. — A pair of Rangers prospect starred for Surprise in its 6-1 victory against Scottsdale on Wednesday afternoon at Surprise Stadium.
The Saguaros never trailed, scoring five runs in the first two innings, as Jose Trevino nearly hit for the cycle and Brett Martin delivered a strong start.

Martin, the Rangers’ No. 8 prospect, came into the game with 4.50 ERA before tossing four scoreless innings. He struck out three batters, walked one and only gave up three hits, lowering his ERA to 2.86.
“The defense helped me out a lot today,” he said.
Trevino, the Rangers’ No. 20 prospect, came into the game hitting .219 through seven games but he turned things around Wednesday. He went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs.
