Caldwell sacked by Wigan
- Updated: October 25, 2016
Championship strugglers Wigan have announced the sacking of manager Gary Caldwell with immediate effect.
Caldwell led the Latics to promotion last season but they have made a slow start to the season and currently lie 23rd, with just two wins from their first 14 games.
Chairman David Sharpe said: “It’s undoubtedly the toughest decision I’ve had to make since becoming Chairman.”
