Haye downbeat about WBA ruling

David Haye has played down his chances of being granted a world title shot by the WBA as he waits for a ruling by the organisation on its vacant heavyweight titles.

IBF champion Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko had submitted requests to contest one of the belts, but their planned fight has been postponed until next year.

The WBA has suggested an announcement will be made imminently about its ‘super’ and ‘regular’ belts after a “difficult” decision-making process, which began last week.   

Lucas Browne is expected to challenge for one of the belts after a legal settlement with the WBA, but Haye, listed at No 6 in the rankings, is not optimistic about receiving a world title …
