Aviator sold to Australia

Imperial Aviator was sold for 270,000 guineas at the Tattersalls Autumn Horses in Training Sale on Monday.
The winner of the London Gold Cup at Newbury in May, the Paco Boy colt picked up an injury in the French Derby but has returned to form with solid performances in Newbury handicaps the last twice.
With an official rating of 99, the colt attracted a wide number of potential purchasers that included Guy Mulcaster, John Kilbride, John McCormack, and Charlton himself but it was Johnny McKeever sitting with Gai Waterhouse’s co-trainer Adrian Bott who came out on top.
