Geno Smith’s attempt to reclaim the New York Jets’ starting quarterback job on a long-term basis hit a speed bump Sunday, after the team announced he suffered a knee injury.

The Jets confirmed Smith is out for the rest of Week 7 against the Baltimore Ravens.
After a rough start to the season by Ryan Fitzpatrick, which saw the Jets go 1-5 out of the gates, Smith was named the team’s new starter entering Week 7.
Smith was tabbed as New York’s starter entering the 2015 season, but that changed when he infamously suffered a broken jaw after getting punched by former Jets and current Buffalo Bills defensive end IK Enemkpali.
