Giants vs. Rams: Score and Twitter Reaction from 2016 Regular Season
- Updated: October 23, 2016
Sunday’s NFL game between the New York Giants and St. Louis Rams may have been played at Twickenham Stadium in London, but it was a Landon who put on a show.
New York safety Landon Collins led the Giants with two crucial interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown, as the Giants defeated the Rams 17-10. Cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie also intercepted two passes, as the Giants forced four Rams turnovers and sacked Case Keenum three times.
Coming into the day, the Giants had forced just three turnovers in total on the season.
Keenum completed 32 of 53 passes for 291 yards and a score, but his four interceptions were the difference. Todd Gurley accumulated 92 yards from scrimmage for the Rams, Tavon Austin went for 57 yards and a score, and Brian Quick caught four passes for 92 yards.
For the Giants, Eli Manning finished 24-of-37 for 196 yards and no touchdowns, while Odell Beckham Jr. caught five passes for 49 yards. The Giants, in total, managed just 232 yards of offense, but the defense did enough to earn the win.
Things couldn’t have started much worse for New York, however.
Larry Donnell fumbled on the team’s second play from scrimmage, setting the Rams up with the ball at New York’s 35-yard-line. Seven plays later, Keenum found Austin in the middle of the end zone for a 10-yard touchdown pass to give Los Angeles the early 7-0 lead after the extra point.
The NFL Network shared the game’s first score:
The Giants likely would have taken a mulligan after such a disastrous start, as Rich Eisen of NFL.com described:

New York’s slow start continued, as the Giants would be forced to punt after just four plays on their next drive. The Rams again answered, going on an eight-play, 62-yard drive culminating in a 36-yard field goal from Greg Zuerlein.
It was a rough first …
