Toles’ error compounds Dodgers’ fielding woes

CHICAGO — The Dodgers’ troubles in their 5-0 elimination loss to the Cubs in Game 6 of the National League Championship Series on Saturday night started early, with an error by rookie left fielder Andrew Toles in the first inning.
Dexter Fowler’s ground-rule double was cashed in by Kris Bryant’s single, Anthony Rizzo sent an opposite-field line drive to the left-center gap. The speedy Toles ran it down, but at the last second lost the ball in the lights and dropped it for a two-base error that left runners on second and third. Ben Zobrist’s sacrifice fly gave the Cubs a 2-0 lead.
