Portugal Masters 2016: Thursday Leaderboard Scores and Highlights

Marc Warren shot a 63 to finish eight-under par and lead the 2016 Portugal Masters after the first round at Victoria Clube de Golfe in Vilamoura, Portugal, on Thursday.

Warren ended one shot ahead of American David Lipsky, who was part of a five-player tie in second on seven-under for the day. Meanwhile, defending champion Andy Sullivan finished his day four shots off the pace after a round of 64 to begin the final regular event of the European Tour calendar.

Lipsky hit four birdies over the first five holes before closing out the front nine with another pair. However, a bogey at the 11th stunted the American’s progress.

He rescued things with a birdie before closing out the round with par over each of the final six holes, and Lipsky carded a 64 for the day.

It was a steady, yet average round for Sullivan, per the European Tour:
