Andrew Miller has been a force out of the Indians’ bullpen throughout this postseason, and now he has some hardware to go with his dominant numbers.

Miller took home the Most Valuable Player Award of the American League Championship Series on Wednesday, when Cleveland’s 3-0 victory at Toronto in Game 5 sent the club to its first World Series since 1997. The left-hander once again played a significant role in the victory, tossing 2 2/3 scoreless innings before closer Cody Allen finished off the series in the ninth.

This is the fifth time a relief pitcher has won an LCS MVP Award. Miller joins Koji Uehara of the 2013 Red Sox, Mariano Rivera of the ’03 Yankees, co-MVPs Rob Dibble and Randy Myers of the 1990 Reds, and Hall of Famer Dennis Eckersley of the ’88 A’s.
