Arsenal ran riot at home to Ludogorets in the UEFA Champions League as they won 6-0 thanks to Mesut Ozil’s first career hat-trick, while Lionel Messi bagged three for Barcelona in a 4-0 win over Manchester City.

Paris Saint-Germain eased past Basel at the Parc des Princes, as did Bayern Munich at home to PSV Eindhoven, while Atletico Madrid ground out a win away at Rostov.

Alexis Sanchez opened the scoring for Arsenal in style as he beat a defender before deftly chipping the ball over the goalkeeper and into the far corner. As Squawka Football revealed, the Chilean has been in supreme form in Europe of late:

Walcott made it 2-0 shortly before half-time when he curled home a sumptuous effort from outside the area.

Early in the second half, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain showed Walcott isn’t the only Gunners player in resurgent form when he netted his third goal of the season, putting him level with last year’s tally already.

Ozil netted the final three goals as he finished one-on-one, converted a cross and swept home a volley to finish off the game. Bleacher Report UK’s own James McNicholas was delighted with the match:
