Alderweireld avoids major injury

Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld will avoid a lengthy spell on the sidelines after a scan revealed no major injury.
The Belgium international missed Spurs’ goalless draw with Bayer Leverkusen in the Champions League after being carried off on a stretcher with a nasty-looking knee injury against West Bromwich Albion last Saturday.
