Tottenham Hotspur couldn’t win, but Leicester City earned a first-ever victory in the UEFA Youth League on Tuesday. The young Foxes saw off FC Copenhagen in a five-goal thriller littered with spectacular strikes, but Tottenham couldn’t hold the lead in Germany against an impressive Bayer Leverkusen.

It means Spurs have now suffered three defeats in a row to begin the tournament.

Meanwhile, a Sebastian Szymanski own goal inside the final 15 minutes gave Real Madrid a 3-2 win over Legia Warsaw in Group F.

Jack Roles opened the scoring for Spurs inside 20 minutes. It was a lead the north London club held until Jakub Bednarczyk equalised just shy of the hour mark.

Leverkusen then seized the initiative and were soon in front when Cedric Harenbrock scored in the 67th minute. Gloss was added to the score when Tim Handwerker tucked home a penalty in injury time.

Tottenham remain rooted to the bottom of Group E. However, the other representative from England’s Premier League enjoyed the day.
