Reds to sign 16-year-old int’l prospect Ruiz

The Reds on Tuesday agreed to purchase the contract of Victor Ruiz, a 16-year-old third baseman and catcher, from the Toros de Tijuana of the Mexican League.
Ruiz hit .298 with a .392 on-base percentage and .440 slugging percentage in the Mexican League’s Academia in Monterrey. The Reds scouted the 6-foot-2 and 195-pound Ruiz throughout the summer as he …
