Sanchez ‘excited’ for G4 start following layoff
- Updated: October 17, 2016
TORONTO — This could represent Aaron Sanchez’s one and only chance to make an impact on this American League Championship Series, and as such, the Blue Jays right-hander is intent upon making it count.
Sanchez is set to take the ball against the Indians in Game 4 of the ALCS on Tuesday (4 p.m. ET on TBS, as well as Sportsnet and RDS in Canada) in what will be his second career postseason start. He’ll return to the hill with eight days of rest following an effort of mixed results in the deciding Game 3 of the AL Division Series against the Rangers.
• ALCS Game 3: Tonight at 8 ET on TBS/Sportsnet/RDS
“Hopefully, I’ll just keep my emotions in check,” Sanchez said. “I’ve been there before last year, but it was out of the ‘pen. The roles were a little bit different. Just keeping the excitement under control, that’s the biggest thing I’ve found. Maybe execute more pitches, just making sure I stay in the moment and keeping my feet under me.”
