‘Stagnant’ Williams unsettled by Force India progress

Williams technical director Pat Symonds has admitted that the rapid progress of Force India has surprised him, while also branding his own team as ‘stagnant’ in 2016.
Williams have finished third in the constructors’ championship in each of the last two years, but currently sit fifth behind Force India, who have made remarkable strides following a major upgrade at the Spanish Grand Prix in May.
“I think we have been remarkably stagnant this year and other teams, particularly Force India, have moved on,” he said.
