Sweden – Basketettan Round 3: Undefeated KFUM Uppsala lose their first game against KFUM Fryshuset

FelixLemetti After 3 rounds played we can already see who rules in the Basketettan and who belongs to weaker ones. The most surprising game was a loss of KFUM Uppsala (1-1) at the home court on Sunday night. Hosts were defeated by KFUM Fryshuset (1-2) 81-72. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-11. But KFUM Uppsala won third quarter 28-16. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for point guard Felix Lemetti (182-99, college: High School) who led his team to a victory scoring 23 points and 6 rebounds. Guard Sami Harun (192-98) helped adding 14 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was guard Samuel Eliasson Godonou (185-93) with 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. KFUM Fryshuset is looking forward to face Taby Basket (#11) at home in the next round. KFUM Uppsala will play against AIK (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either. Very important is a road loss of Wetterbygden (2-1) against Koping (2-0) on Saturday night. Visiting Wetterbygden was crushed by Koping in Koping 95-69. It was an exceptional evening for American Ronald Boggs (-91) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Sean Smith accounted for 26 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Guard Tanju Yulman (187-90) came up with 15 points and 6 rebounds for Wetterbygden in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest. The game in Jamtland was also quite interesting. BG Lulea (1-3) played at the court of Jamtland II (2-2). Jamtland II managed to secure a 5-point victory 69-64 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was Anton Kobylak-Berglund who scored 24 points and 8 rebounds. Jamtland II’s coach Zeljko Brlek used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was Jonatan Arvidsson who recorded 22 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest. There were no shocking results in the rest of the games of round 3: KFUM Central lost to Djurgarden on the opponent’s court 70-90. Huddinge outscored RIG Mark in a home game 91-72. Lobas recorded a loss to Helsingborg on the road 73-68.
