Colts vs. Texans: Score and Twitter Reaction for Sunday Night Football
- Updated: October 17, 2016
The Houston Texans overcame a 14-point fourth-quarter deficit to shock the Indianapolis Colts with a 26-23 overtime victory.
Down 23-9 in the closing minutes, Brock Osweiler led back-to-back touchdown drives to even up the game with 49 seconds remaining. Nick Novak then made the game-winning 33-yard field goal in overtime to seal the win for the Texans, helping them improve to 4-2 on the season.
Osweiler had an up-and-down night that saw him struggle with his accuracy for much of the game before responding with a pair of touchdown drives late. ESPN Stats & Info provided a look at a tale of two games:
Brock Osweiler was 12-of-15 for 135 yards and 2 TD in the 4th quarter (11-of-22 for 89 yards with an interception in the first 3 quarters).

He ended up going 25-of-39 for 269 yards and two touchdowns.
Lamar Miller was still the star for the Texans, running wild for 149 rushing yards, 29 receiving yards and two total touchdowns.
Conversely, Andrew Luck appeared to be as good as he had been all season early in the game but couldn’t close things out as the Colts fell to 2-4 on the season. The quarterback finished with 252 passing yards and a touchdown to go with 53 rushing yards and another score.
Frank Gore was also his usually steady self as well with 106 rushing yards on 22 carries, becoming the first Colts player to break 100 rushing yards in a game since 2012.
ESPN’s Chris Sprow showed the epic collapse from Indianapolis:

This result was a major surprise compared to how the game looked in the first three quarters. The Texans offense especially did not look good early, with numberFire describing the first series:
Let’s review that series, shall we? We started with a great, successful run by Miller, then three straight almost turnovers by Osweiler.

Osweiler continued to have a hard time finding his targets, and it led to a handful of punts in the first quarter.
Meanwhile, the Colts offense did a better job of moving down the field. It started off the scoring with a field goal and then followed it up with a touchdown to go up 10-0 early in the second quarter. Luck was able to …
