Bauer says pinkie cut ‘non-issue’ for Game 3
- Updated: October 16, 2016
TORONTO — Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer, who cut his right pinkie finger while doing routine maintenance on his drone last week, believes the laceration will be a “non-issue” during his start against the Blue Jays in Game 3 of the American League Championship Series on Monday.
Bauer suffered the freak injury two nights before his scheduled Game 2 start in Cleveland, forcing right-hander Josh Tomlin into action on Saturday. Tomlin delivered 5 2/3 innings of one-run ball in the win that pushed Cleveland’s series lead to 2-0. Bauer will look to follow suit, in opposition of Toronto right-hander Marcus Stroman.
