Clayt Show! LA drops Cubs, ties NLCS

CHICAGO — The Cubs did not face Clayton Kershaw this past regular season. The only time the left-hander’s name was mentioned around Wrigley Field was when Kyle Hendricks passed him for the best ERA in the National League, and that was because Kershaw didn’t have enough innings to qualify after being injured. On Sunday night, Kershaw topped Hendricks, and did so efficiently and in historic fashion.

Making his third start and fourth appearance this postseason, Kershaw struck out six and gave up two hits over seven innings to lead the Dodgers to a 1-0 victory over the Cubs and even the NL Championship Series at one win apiece. Kenley Jansen took over in the eighth, and got the final six outs in order for the save. Adrian Gonzalez gave Kershaw all the support he needed when he led off the second with a home run into the left-field bleachers.
