Martinsville Speedway to Add Lights

Martinsville Speedway announced Wednesday that it will add an LED lighting system to the historic oval for the 2017 season.
Starting the day after the Oct. 30 Goody’s Fast Relief 500, installation of permanent lights will begin with a project the track is calling “Light Up Martinsville,” which will be the first major motor sports facility with LED lights.
“For years, fans have been asking us, ‘When are you going to put in lights?’ ” said Clay Campbell, track president. …
