Dr Noel Pollock appointed British Athletics chief medical officer

Sports physician Dr Noel Pollock has been announced as British Athletics’ new chief medical officer (CMO) and Steve Paulding as the national governing body’s national performance institute (NPI) director in Loughborough.
Dr Pollock (pictured) has worked with British Athletics for the past 10 years and steps into the role following the departure of Dr Robin Chakraverty, who left his full-time position with British Athletics in September after seven years to work with The FA.
A former middle-distance runner for Northern Ireland, Dr Pollock has been the British Athletics team doctor at over 15 European and World Championships, and most recently at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games. He was a sports medicine lead doctor in the athletics stadium for the London 2012 Olympic Games and Team England athletics doctor at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow.
