Sources: Fredi in talks for Marlins’ 3B coach

MIAMI — Former Marlins and Braves manager Fredi Gonzalez has had multiple conversations with Miami about its vacated third-base coaching position, sources have told MLB.com. But the 52-year-old is in the process of mulling all his options.
Gonzalez, relieved of his managerial duties with Atlanta in May, managed the Marlins from 2007-10. His contract with the Braves ran through this season.
The Marlins are in the process of filling three vacancies on manager Don Mattingly’s staff, after the club announced on Oct. 5 that it was not bringing back Barry Bonds (hitting), Lenny Harris (third base) and Reid Cornelius (bullpen).
