TomSchumacher There were only 2 rounds played so far and it’s still very beginning of the Regular Season in Total League. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Musel Pikes (1-1) in Dudelange on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by T71 (2-0) 87-83. They made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. International point guard Tom Schumacher (190-87) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. International swingman Denell Stephens (190-86, college: Slippery Rock, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) contributed with 23 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Jarmar Gulley (196-91, college: Missouri St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) replied with 28 points and 9 rebounds for Musel Pikes. T71 is looking forward to face Etzella in Ettelbruck in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Musel Pikes will play at home against Arantia and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Another interesting game for Amicale (1-1) which played in Larochette against Arantia (0-2). Amicale crushed hosts 88-51. American forward Shavon Coleman (196-92, college: LSU, agency: Court Side) had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Billy McDaniel chipped in 10 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. American swingman Corday Sims (196-91, college: Peru St.) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Amicale will play against Basket Esch (#9) at home in the next round. Arantia will play against Musel Pikes in Stadrbredimus and it may be a tough game between close rivals. The game in Esch was also quite interesting. Sparta (2-0) played at the court of Basket Esch (0-2). Sparta defeated Basket Esch 71-60 on Saturday. Titus Robinson notched 22 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort. Sparta’s coach Philippe Giberti used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Even 20 points and 9 rebounds by Jahmar Thorpe did not help to save the game for Basket Esch. Sparta will meet at home Bascharage (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Basket Esch will play against Amicale in Steinsel and it may be a tough game between close rivals. The game in Kaerjeng was also worth to mention about. Contern (2-0) played at the court of Bascharage (0-2). Contern did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 88-71. The best player for the winners was Manny Atkins who had a double-double by scoring 23 points, 11 rebounds, 6 assists and 7 steals. Contern’s next round opponent will be Residence (#10) in Bereldange and are hoping to win another game. Bascharage will play on the road against Sparta in Bertrange and hope to win that game. In the last game of round 2 Etzella smashed Residence on the road 89-69. The most impressive performance of 2nd round was 25 points and 8 rebounds by Billy McNutt of Etzella.Basket Esch – Sparta 60-71The game in Esch was also quite interesting.
