MichaelBonaparte Countdown on to exciting weekend of Men’s Super LeagueThis coming weekend, October 15th and 16th, is a weekend of basketball action you definitely don’t want to miss.The countdown is officially on to the first Men’sSuper Seriesweekend of the 2016/17 season which will take place atthe National Basketball Arena in Tallaght on October 15th and 16th. The weekend is truly gearing up to be a superb showcase of basketball as all 12 of this year’s Men’s Super League teams make the trip to the national stadium for what will undoubtedly be a weekend not to be missed.Opening up the event will be Belfast Star and Pyrobel Killester who face off on the court at 2pm on Saturday, October 15th. Killester have just made their way on to the league table having overcome SSE Airtricity Moycullen at the weekend (83-74). They had lost their two opening games to Griffith Swords Thunder and Templeogue and a relieved Head Coach, Brian O’Malley was glad to get the win and finally be on the scoreboard.’It’s good to get on the board,’ he said. ‘It was a tough game, Moycullen really took us out of our comfort zone, it was a battle from start to finish. They are all hard wins, they are all hard games to get through. We’re looking forward to Star now next weekend. They are always going to be a good team, they’ve good Irish players, Dan O’Neill is a very good coach so they are well drilled, they ran UCD really close up in Belfast on Saturday evening, they are probably unlucky as they have come out on the wrong side of a couple of very close games.
