Stan Wawrinka swept aside Kyle Edmund in straight sets as he progressed to the third round at the 2016 Shanghai Rolex Masters on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Marcel Granollers stunned seventh seed Tomas Berdych, but David Goffin avoided a similar upset against Benoit Paire.
Later in the day, the likes of Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray will be among those in action.
