Gillaspie, Panik heroes in comeback win

SAN FRANCISCO — Brandon Crawford stared at Joe Panik’s drive into the right-center-field gap in the 13th inning Monday night and wouldn’t move. Crawford, who was standing near second base, has seen far too many hits like Panik’s result in outs while playing at AT&T Park.
But this time the ball kept sailing, and Panik lifted his arm in the air as Crawford sprinted home to score the game-winning run. In an elimination game that stretched on for five hours and four minutes, the Giants survived, outlasting the Cubs, 6-5, in Game 3 of the National League Division Series. Game 4 is Tuesday at 8:30 p.m. ET/5:30 p.m. PT on FS1.
