Manchester United have reportedly been scouting Everton duo striker Romelu Lukaku and right-back Seamus Coleman, with manager Jose Mourinho said to be keen on signing both players.
A report from Paul Hetherington of the Daily Star’s Sunday edition has stated United scouts were at Everton’s recent 1-1 home draw with Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Hetherington pointed out how Lukaku’s development on Merseyside has caught Mourinho’s eye, after the Portuguese coach originally sold the Belgian attacker while at Chelsea.
The report also noted how United might have the edge if the club chooses to push for a deal for the 23-year-old striker: “Significantly, Lukaku’s agent is Mino Raiola, the man behind United’s summer signings—Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.”
Lukaku has indeed produced the goods since Mourinho jettisoned him from Stamford Bridge in 2014. He’s in prolific form this season, scoring five Premier League goals already, per WhoScored.com.
