Barcelona Transfer News: Latest Rumours on Aleix Vidal and Diego Alves
- Updated: October 8, 2016
Aleix Vidal wants to leave Barcelona rather than remain on the bench on manager Luis Enrique’s watch. Vidal has reportedly even told team-mates he’s ready to quit the Camp Nou club in January.
A report from Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo (h/t AS English) has stated the former Sevilla man hopes to be sold during the winter window. He’s anxious to leave because of a “crumbling relationship” with his manager.
Luis Enrique is said to be “unimpressed with the full-back’s performance and effort in training.” As a result, Vidal has been denied the chance to replace Dani Alves at right-back, and the Barca boss has given the berth to young midfield playmaker Sergi Roberto.
Vidal has been left out of the last six matchday squads by Luis Enrique, which is a clear sign the player isn’t trusted. However, the Mundo Deportivo report also noted Barca remain uncertain about what to do next with the player who cost an initial fee worth £13 million when he signed in 2015.
Yet Spanish source Sport (h/t Dan Pellegrini of the Sun) reported Barca are already discussing a swap deal involving Vidal with fellow La Liga club Valencia. Los Che are said to be prepared to offer Portuguese defender Joao Cancelo in exchange for Vidal.
