Russia – Korshakov’s double-double lands him Superleague 1 Player of the Week award

DmitryKorshakov 25-year old forward Dmitry Korshakov (201-F-91) had an amazing evening in the last round for Ryazan and receives a Eurobasket.com Superleague 1 Player of the Week award for round 1.He had a double-double of 21 points and 13 rebounds, while his team edged out Urartu Yerevan (#13, 0-1) 93-89. Ryazan is placed at 3rd position in Russia Superleague 1. But it’s just the very beginning of the season and Ryazan won just one (their first) game. It’s too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team’s last game Korshakov had a remarkable 63.6% from 2-point range. He turned to be Ryazan’s top player in his first season with the team.Second best performed player last round was Todd O’Brien (211-C-89) of Urartu Yerevan. He is American center in his first season at Urartu Yerevan. In the last game O’Brien recorded impressive double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds.
