China Open 2016: Friday Tennis Scores, Results and Updated Draw Schedule

Rafael Nadal is out of the 2016 China Open after losing in straight sets to Bulgaria’s Grigor Dimitrov.

Earlier in the day, top-seed Andy Murray made it through in an all-British quarter-final with Kyle Edmund, while Milos Raonic is also into the last four having beaten both Malek Jaziri and Pablo Carreno Busta on Friday.

In the women’s draw, the highest remaining seed is Agnieszka Radwanska, who will play Yaroslava Shvedova later in the day. Madison Keys, Johanna Konta and Elina Svitolina have already booked their spots in the semi-finals.

Service Woes Cost Nadal

Nadal looked to have rediscovered some fine form at this tournament, although he found the going tough early on against Dimitrov.

Indeed, both men struggled for rhythm on their serves, with the first five games going against the server. It wasn’t until the Bulgarian held in the sixth game and then broke Nadal to go 4-2 up that there was daylight between the two players.

The world No. 4 continued to falter with ball in hand, though, losing on his serve for a fourth time in the set and then the stanza itself 6-2.
