Houston BBWAA recognizes Altuve, Devenski, McHugh

HOUSTON — All-Star second baseman Jose Altuve, rookie pitcher Chris Devenski and right-hander Collin McHugh were the Astros honored Thursday by the Houston chapter of the Baseball Writers’ Association of America.
Altuve was named the team’s Most Valuable Player for the third time in four years after winning his second American League batting title (.338) and leading the league in hits (216). He also was second in the AL in steals (30), tied for third in doubles (42) and was fifth in OPS (.928).
