Al’LonzoColeman The Regular Season in Korisliiga just started. The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of KTP-Basket (0-1) on the court of Salon Vilpas on Wednesday night. Visitors were rolled over by Salon Vilpas 86-58. The game without a history. Salon Vilpas led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Salon Vilpas outrebounded KTP-Basket 41-28 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. American forward Al’Lonzo Coleman (201-89, college: Presbyterian) fired 20 points and 9 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field) for the winners. His fellow American import guard Desmond Williams (199-91, college: S.Connecticut) chipped in 14 points and 10 rebounds. Salon Vilpas’ coach Joonas Iisalo felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Jamaica-American power forward Sherman Gay (201-82, college: Loyola Mary) produced 19 points and 5 rebounds for lost side. Salon Vilpas is looking forward to face Tampereen Pyrinto (#10) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. KTP-Basket will have a break next round. Another exciting game was between Helsinki Seagulls and BC Nokia where Helsinki Seagulls (1-0) beat BC Nokia (0-1) on the road 83-76. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Carl Lindbom (206-91) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds. Local UU-Korihait (1-0) outscored Lapuan Korikobrat (0-1) 85-63 on Wednesday night. The game was dominated by American players.
