HowardSant-Roos After 4 rounds played we can already see who rules in the NBL and who belongs to weaker ones. There was no lack of excitement in the last round games. The round ended with favorites losing the games, games ending by tiny margin and even winless team recording their first victory.The game had a very big importance for third-ranked CEZ Nymburk as it allowed them to take a leadership position. CEZ Nymburk defeated their biggest opponent BK Pardubice at home 81-63. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of BK Pardubice. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The game was mostly controlled by CEZ Nymburk. BK Pardubice managed to win third quarter 24-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. CEZ Nymburk made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Cuba forward Howard Sant-Roos (200-91) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 6 rebounds and American guard Bryon Allen (193-92, college: George Mason) who added 16 points during the contest. CEZ Nymburk’s coach Ronen Ginzburg used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Dominez Burnett (196-92, college: Davenport) responded with 20 points and 5 rebounds. CEZ Nymburk have a solid four-game winning streak. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. BK Pardubice at the other side keeps the second place with one game lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. BK Pardubice will play next round against BK Usti nad Labem trying to get back on the winning streak. CEZ Nymburk will try to continue on its current victory against third ranked BK Decin at home. BK Decin (3-1) recorded its first loss on the court of ninth ranked USK Praha. Visitors were edged by USK Praha 87-84. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of BK Decin. The winners were led by Croatia center Mladen Primorac (210-90) who scored that evening 21 points and 9 rebounds and Jaromir Bohacik supported him with 26 points. Even 29 points and 6 assists by international point guard Tomas Vyoral (190-92, agency: Octagon Europe) did not help to save the game for BK Decin. USK Praha (2-2) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Usti n/Labem. BK Decin at the other side keeps the second position with one game lost. They share it with 3 other teams. USK Praha will play against higher ranked BK Opava (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. BK Decin will play against the league’s leader CEZ Nymburk and it may be a tough game between close rivals. MMCITE Brno has registered their first victory this season after three consecutive loses. They used home court advantage to defeat Basketbal Svitavy (1-3) 79-76 on Wednesday. Deshawn Painter fired a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. T.J. Bannister produced 20 points and 7 assists for lost side. Basketbal Svitavy’s coach tried various players’ combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn’t help. MMCITE Brno left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams including defeated Basketbal Svitavy. MMCITE Brno will meet higher ranked Prostejov (#5) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Basketbal Svitavy will play against BK Lions Hradec and it may be a tough game between close rivals. Bottom-ranked BK Kolin (0-4) is still winless. This time they lost on the road their fourth consecutive match to sixth ranked BK Usti nad Labem (2-2) 110-87. It was a very good performance for Ladislav Pecka who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. BK Usti nad Labem maintains sixth position with 2-2 record, which they share with USK Praha. BK Kolin at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. BK Usti nad Labem’s next round opponent will be league’s second-placed BK Pardubice on the road and it may be quite challenging game. BK Kolin will play against NH Ostrava (#11) and hopes to get finally their first victory.The game in J.Hradec supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked BK Opava (3-1) played at the court of 7th ranked BK Lions Hradec (1-3). BK Opava smashed BK Lions Hradec 101-68 on Wednesday. Worth to mention a great performance of Radovan Kouril who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BK Opava moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser BK Lions Hradec dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. BK Opava will face USK Praha (#6) at home in the next round. BK Lions Hradec will play against Basketbal Svitavy and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
