Tiger Woods, Davis Love III, Fred Couples Named Presidents Cup Asst. Captains

The United States, fresh off this year’s Ryder Cup victory, already has its eyes on next year’s Presidents Cup.
According to Bob Harig of ESPN.com, captain Steve Stricker named Tiger Woods, Davis Love III and Fred Couples as his assistant captains for next year’s event Wednesday. The Presidents Cup will take place at Liberty National Golf Club in New Jersey from Sept. 26 through Oct. 1, 2017.
While the Ryder Cup features the United States against a team of European golfers, the Presidents Cup pits the Americans against international players from outside of Europe.
Stricker, Woods and Love should be familiar with one another’s leadership skills, considering Stricker and Woods were assistants under Love at the Ryder Cup.
