Appleby wants rain for Hawkbill

Connections of Hawkbill are hoping conditions ease somewhat ahead of the Qipco Champion Stakes at Ascot on October 15.
The talented three-year-old needs cut in the ground to be seen at his best, as he showed when winning the Coral-Eclipse Stakes at Sandown in July.
Since then he has been beaten in both the Juddmonte International and the Irish Champion Stakes, when the going was not ideal.
However, trainer Charlie Appleby reports Hawkbill to have bounced back from his recent run at Leopardstown.
